On December 1st, the government released an adult social care reform white paper – ‘People at the heart of care’. It includes a range of policies to be implemented over the next three years.

What does it mean for technology for care homes?

There will be at least £150 million of additional funding to drive the greater adoption of technology. As well as achieve widespread digitalisation across social care.

The funding should enhance the quality of care and create stronger connections between people. The white paper also says technology needs to reduce rather than exacerbate loneliness and isolation. Importantly there is also an emphasis on making sure professionals and care teams have the right digital tools and data to provide outstanding and safe care people deserve. It paints a positive picture of what care could look like in the future.

GHM have assisted many care homes and groups to maximise their investments. If you are securing additional investment but unsure of what technologies are available or how to make the most of your budget, call our experts on 01865 367111 or email info@ghmcare.co.uk.
