As part of GHM’s obligations under the Telecommunications (Security) Act 2021, GHM is required to notify clients of potential risks associated with telecom equipment that is no longer manufactured and, consequently, vulnerable to support-related issues.
The Act defines “security compromises” as any action that compromises the availability, performance, or functionality of a network or a service. Therefore, it is our responsibility to highlight the risks to clients affected.
We therefore need to draw your attention to the Samsung equipment you currently use:
- Samsung OS7030 / OS7100 / OS7200 / OS7400 Telephone System
- Samsung Enterprise WiFi Solution
As the above systems are no longer supported by the manufacturer, it means that software upgrades and security patches are no longer being provided. Consequently, systems could suffer prolonged downtime due to failure, should a key replacement part not be in stock or readily available. And in regards to Samsung WiFi, the security of networks cannot be guaranteed.
