Background
Principle Care Homes were looking to partner with a care home technology specialist for their entire telephony, WIFI, IT infrastructure and ongoing support.
Behind every requirement and decision was the need for scalability…to create a standardised blueprint of installation and provision that would support Principle’s plans for growth and modern, high standards.
The Solution
Whilst any solutions are ultimately designed around the requirements and locality of each home, GHM Care has worked with Principle to design a standardised technology strategy based on the group’s growth plans, so it can be easily implemented at each stage of development.
The strategy comprises fully managed IT services and support, care home WiFi, connectivity and telephony – all fit for a modern, luxury care home environment. The solutions are also designed to future proof Principle as they increase the number of homes and residents and continuously offer staff and residents the very latest in technology and efficiencies.
GHM Care managed the transition of IT services at the Principle head office from an existing provider and has installed the IT Systems, Telephony and WiFi for Principle’s first care home, Broomfield Village. Construction is well under way of Principle’s second care home (Heron Manor) and GHM Care has worked with the group and constructors since the design stage to ensure all solutions are installed as efficiently and seamlessly as possible.
During the design stage, GHM Care use what’s called a Wi-Fi ‘heatmap’, which considers the build materials, layout, and wall thickness of a building to carefully plot each access point for optimum coverage with minimal hardware.
The hosted telephony solution comprises desk phones in key staff positions and cordless extensions, plus an option for residents to have their own big button phones on rolling 30 day contracts without any cabling.
